Heronby Will Destroy Greenfield Land

Heronby Will Needlessly Destroy Greenfield Land Instead Of Using Any Of Local Brown Sites That Remain Vacant.

Heronby goes against the government’s promise to protect our greenfield sites. Halt Heronby Say ‘No’ To the immoral destruction of green / greenfield sites when we have enough brownfield sites to build 1.3 million new houses in the UK.

Halt Heronby to avoid traffic chaos on the A19 at York and Selby

Heronby Will Worsen The A19 / York Traffic Chaos

Heronby Will Add 1000s Of Extra Cars To The A19 Traffic Chaos From Selby Through To Fulford, Fishergate, Into York and Beyond.

Selby District Council have failed to engage with York City Council on their objections to the extra congestion on the A19 caused by the Heronby site. Nor is there any evidence of consultation with neighbouring authorities.

Accidents, fatalities and pollution will increase. The residents Of Selby, Barlby, Riccall, Escrick, Deighton, Naburn, Fullford, Fishergate & York know how bad the A19 traffic is now: Halt Heronby Say ‘No’ To worsening the existing A19 / York traffic chaos.

Heronby Will Concrete Over Crops / Quality Agricultural Land.

84% of the Heronby site is currently in production and yields around 4 tonnes/acre. Based on the 496 acres currently in cereal production, Heronby proposes to take £575,000 of food supply out of the market, at a time of food shortages and rising prices. Halt Heronby agree with The Government Food Strategy (June, 2022) that recognises the need for domestic food security, and to strengthen food supply chains. Clearly SDC and the promoters of Heronby disagree.
